Bakalářská práce se zabývá zdokonalováním výukového modelu mikroskopu atomárních sil (AFM). Součástí práce je rešerše stávajících analogii mezi makroskopickými jevy a fenomény spojenými s mikroskopii rastrovací sondou. Dále byla vybrána vhodná analogie, která byla následně implementována do již existujícího modelu mikroskopu atomárních sil. Do modelu byl integrován i jednodeskový počítač, který zajistí ovládání i bez nutnosti připojení externího počítače. Na závěr byly vyhodnoceny vlastnosti použité sondy a analogie mezi modelem a skutečnými mikroskopy atomárních sil.

The factors influencing sensory quality of processed cheese analogues

The presented thesis deals with the monitoring sensory quality of processed cheese analogues, focusing mainly on the taste (flavour) and related content of volatile (aroma active) substances. Model samples of analogues were produced by a standard procedure at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The experimental part was divided into two experiments, which differed in the composition of model samples of analogues. In the first experiment, the traditional fat (butter) was completely replaced by selected vegetable fats (palm, coconut, mixed), in the second experiment only a part (1% w/w - expressed on the total weight of the sample) of butter was replaced by vegetable oils (apricot, flax seed, currant, grape seed). Solid phase microextraction in conjunction with gas chromatography with flame ionization detection was used to determine volatiles. Methods based on valid international standards were used to evaluate the sensory quality of samples, focusing mainly on flavor, namely evaluation using scales (ISO 4121), profile test (EN ISO 13299) and ranking test (ISO 8587). The aim of the work was to assess the effect of the addition of various vegetable fats/oils on the above parameters, at the same time their changes were monitored during 6 months of storage (at 6 ° C). The results showed that the vegetable oil used affects both the sensory quality and the content and composition of volatile substances of analogues. Significant differences between samples were mainly in taste, aroma and overall acceptability. The decreasing overall acceptability of the samples can be expressed in experiment I by the order: product with butter coconut palm mixed fat; in the case of experiment II: product with butter apricot = flax = grape currant oil. Mixed fat, currant and grape seed oil proved to be unsuitable for the production of analogues, on the contrary, analogues with coconut fat and apricot oil were evaluated best. Based on the results of sensory analyses, it was shown that the samples maintain a good sensory quality min. for 3 months while maintaining a low storage temperature ( 6 ° C). An analogue with coconut fat, whose taste, aroma and acceptability were rated as very good, and apricot oil, whose taste, aroma and acceptability were even rated as excellent, could enrich the food offer on the market.

The limits between interpretation and judicial development of the law The thesis deals with the issue of the limits between interpretation and the judicial development of the law, especially in relation to the limits that the interpreter must respect when considering whether to proceed to the (judicial) development of the law in a specific case, and further in relation to the identification of risks that in connection with this procedure may arise. The thesis focuses mainly on questions related to the limits of the development of law. The reason is the following: while questions related to the interpretation of law constantly attract the attention of legal theorists, much fewer works are devoted to the questions related to (judicial) development of law. The aim of this thesis is thus (i) to show where the limits of the interpretation of the legal text end, (ii) to identify for which specific cases these limits will also represent the final boundary for their solution, and (iii) if this is not the case, to finally define further limitations and conditions of procedure for those cases where the (judicial) development of the law may be considered. Flatland and student's perception of the fourth dimension

This diploma thesis deals with the connection between mathematics and literature, two disciplines that may seem distant from each other. The aim of this work is to analyze whether selected students are able to improve their perception of the fourth dimension with the help of the analogy introduced in an excerpt from Edwin Abbott Abbott's book called Flatland. This thesis begins by introducing firstly, the history of the fourth dimension and the way it is conceptualized, and secondly, the author and the book Flatland. The theoretical part continues by providing a description of the occurrence of analogy, literature, and the fourth dimension in the Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education as well as other sources focused on teaching mathematics. Next, the theory of the general models introduced by Hejný is summarized, followed by the van Hiele model of geometric thinking. The theoretical part of the thesis ends with a description of our limitations regarding the representations of the fourth dimension. This first part of the work stands as the basis for the practical part of the thesis that introduces a quantitative case study which was realized in the following way. The preparation and characterization of IGF2 prohormones

Insulin-like growth factors 1 and 2 are protein hormones that share similar structural and functional features with insulin. They are commonly abbreviated as IGF1 and IGF2. They play important roles in prenatal development and throughout lifespan. Stimulation of growth of all cell types and significant metabolic effects also belong among their known functions. Dysregulation of their activity or elevated levels were observed in a number of diseases such as diabetes mellitus type 2, cancer, hyperthyroidism, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, muscle dystrophy, acromegaly, Laron dwarfism and other disorders. Functions of IGF2 are less studied than functions of the other members of the family and even less is known about precursors of IGF2. To address these issues we started with production of IGF2 analogues with enhanced specificity to IR for better understanding the mechanism of receptor activation by IGF2. We produced site-specific analogues modified at sites important for receptor binding. IGF2 analogue with Phe48His mutation is the strongest IGF2-derived binder for IR-A reported ever and it is able to activate IR-A to about 60% of insulin ability. TITLE: The etymological analysis of colour names and related idioms AUTHOR: Anna Hořejší DEPARTMENT: Department of the French language and literature SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Jiří Jančík ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis concerns the etymological analyses of colour names in the French language and related idioms. In the theoretical part we present the basic linguistic terminology necessary for the accomplishment of the etymological analyses; the practical part concerns the analyses itself. The objective of the thesis is to deeply analyze the six basic colours both from the etymological and symbolic point of view. Furthermore, the thesis concerns the etymological analyses of colours the names of which are to some extend specific and remarkable. We talk about colours like: fox tail, bonbon, the Berlin blue, tea, khaki, pearl or snow, divided into groups according to the word they contain (colours containing a name of an animal, food, liquid, material, the place of origin, etc.). These colours are examined not only etymologically; we are also interested in the reason for which they are called so. In the last part of the thesis we scrutinize also idioms containing a name of a colour; we talk about idioms like white night, yellow danger, to be bad like a red donkey, cordon bleu or green tongue. About the Relationship of Humility and Pride

This thesis deals with the research of humility from the view of its elusiveness - it does not define humility and it also does not even try to do so. Conversely, it walks around the phenomenon of humility and points at it in different ways. It uses examples, mostly from works of Comenius, and builds it with parallels from works of Jung, Foucault, Jünger, Drewermann and some other authors. It delimits humility against pride at example of different view of "epoché" in works of Comenius and Descartes; pride is basicly seen where human does not leave any unnaturalness and completely absorbs the world by his own opinion; work also uses Husserl's criticism of Descartes' view of "epoché" and Comenius' criticism of Machiavelli is also mentioned. Thence, the thesis sees the principle of humility in a close relation with the principle of faith or simply with the knowledge of the principle of some higher instance than the human's own sense is. The principle of humility is also nearby to the principle of grace - for this example the thesis researches Simone Weil's concept of "weight and grace"; grace from this point of view is an unpredictable step outside the performance-based part of human life. Ability of Czech Speakers of English to Pronounce Words with Silent Letters

The aim of this thesis is to show the historical development of silent letters and their role in contemporary English. In the theoretical part a definition of a silent letter is provided and the reasons for its emergence are outlined. Moreover, we will concentrate on individual silent letters and describe in which positions they normally occur. In the practical part the ability of Czech learners of English to pronounce selected words with silent letters is assessed. The research includes a comparison of recordings obtained from students of the first and the fourth year of upper-secondary education.
